Auth0: How to generate API keys for customer org usage

  • Navigate to the following URL: https://manage.auth0.com/

  • Click on login

  • Open your 2FA application in your mobile device and insert the code link to the Auth0 service.

  • Next, you will need to click on Applications. A dropdown menu will be displayed. Click on Applications as well.

  • You will see a list with all the applications previously created and on the top of the page you will see the button + Create Application. Click on it.

  • Select Machine to Machine Application. Since this guide is intended for the generation of api's for tms clients, this is why we always select. Give a meaningful name to it e.g. Järvisuomi tms-booking and click Create.

  • Next, you're gonna have to choose to which API you desire to give access to. A big list of pre-existing api's will be displayed when you click on the combobox. You will know beforehand the api you need to select. For this example we'll select TMS Fleet nightly. In the Permissions selection, if you're not sure what to select, ask Sanna Koskiranta-Nurmi for clarifications or whoever the project manager is at the time you are reading these instructions. Once you have everything selected accordingly click Authorize.
API permissions
  • After you have clicked Authorize, you'll see this page. Click on the tab Settings. Copy and Save the Client ID and Client Secret and share it with the client requesting the API. You need to use a secure method of sharing such as 1Password or ProtonPass.
