Generated SSH keys:

Generating a New .ppk Key

  1. Open PuTTYgen: Launch the PuTTYgen application on your Windows machine. It's usually installed as part of the PuTTY suite.
  2. Choose Key Type: Select the type of key you want to generate.
    1. We used Ed25519 format
  3. ~~Set Key Size: Set the number of bits in the key. A size of 2048 or 4096 is recommended for strong security.~~
  4. Generate the Key: Click the Generate button. The application will ask you to move your mouse randomly over the blank area to generate randomness for the key.
  5. ~~Add a Passphrase: It's highly recommended to add a passphrase to your private key. Enter and confirm a strong passphrase in the "Key passphrase" and "Confirm passphrase" fields. This encrypts the private key, so it can't be used without the passphrase, even if the file is stolen.~~
    1. We didnt use passphase
  6. Save the Key: Click the Save private key button. The program will prompt you to save the key with a .ppk extension. Choose a secure location, and give it a descriptive name.

Keys are saved to 1Password with notes.
